AUTUMN/WINTER FASHION WISH LIST 2015

Autum and Winter fashion is my absolute fave, every year when the leaves start to fall and become orange and crispy, I know it is time for a new wardrobe! The concept of chunky knits, warm boots and layering just makes me so happy. I can't wait to have a big shopping spree in the next couple of weeks.

Below I have chosen to share with you 6 items that I am really excited about purchasing for the upcoming Autumn/Winter season.

1. This is the 'Cable-knit Poncho' from H&M and retails at £24.99. As I said above, I absolutely love chunky knits during Autumn and Winter and this is perfect for me. I love the grey colour, because it goes with everything. I love the button detailing at the side and the role neck detailing. I would wear this during the day and pair it with some leggings and ankle boots with a natural, day make-up look.

2. This is the 'Exclusive Spot Stripe Flippy Dress' from Topshop and retails at £34.00. This dress epitomises Autumn to me. I love the rich colours within it and think it looks great with the spot and stripe aspect to it. It kind of reminds me of tartan print, which is really in this season. I would pair this dress with some thick black tights and some over-the-knee boots. I'd go for a simple makeup look due to the complexity of the design on the dress.

3. These are the 'Overknee Boots' from H&M and retail at £39.99. I don't actually own any overknee boots, but I am really keen to get some! I love the look they can give and think that this season will be the perfect time to try some out! I think they would look great with any of the items listed today, and as soon as payday hits I will purchase!

4. This is the 'Prince of Wales Checked Mini Skirt with Wool' from M&S and retails at £35.00. I was walking through M&S with my mum the other week and immediately fell in love with this skirt. My Scottish roots draw me to any kind of tartan and this has been the nicest tartan skirt of the season  that I have seen. I love the leather detailing at the waist and pockets and think it looks really sophisticated. I would pair this with a long sleeve black turtle neck top, some black tights and some ankle boots. I think this could be easily transferable from day to night.

5. This is the 'Checked Pinafore Dress' from Topshop and retails at £42.00. Although this pinafore style dress is a little on the pricy side, I really want it. As I said above, I love tartan print and think the colours used are really understated, but compliment each other really well. I'd pair this with some thick black tights and ankle boots. I also think this would look great with a bright red lip to contrast the dark colours of the dress.

6. This the 'Black Faux Fur Trim Cape is from New Look and retails at £44.99. I am absolutely head over heels with this cape. I think it looks really classy and sophisticated and would look good on top of most outfits. I love the endless possibilities of it it and think it would be easy to dress up or down. I wouldn't use it as my everyday coat, but I think it would be great on a night out or just with some leggings and boots.

OUTFIT REVIEW OF THE 2015 TEEN CHOICE AWARDS!

I thought I would do something a little different this week and have a look at some of the outfits worn to the 2015 Teen Choice Awards. I love awards and award season as I get completely obsessed with the beautiful gowns and stylish dresses. One thing I love about the Teen Choice Awards, is that it incorporates people of all ages and it is so nice to see younger people have a chance to walk the red (or in this case blue) carpet. 

From what I have seen so far, the standard of this years fashion has been really high, so I have picked a couple who have really caught my eye. The Teen Choice awards are known for being a more casual event and this was definitely represented in the fashion! I don't really agree with picking the best and the worst dressed, because quite frankly it is not very nice. Nine times out of ten, celebrities have been told what to wear and I would hate it if I was slated for something that I thought looked good! If you are comfortable with what you are wearing and you feel good because of it, then that is all that matters!

So here is a couple of celebs who really caught my fashion eye this year...

Lucy Hale - even though I am a massive PLL fan, I promise I was not biased in including Lucy in my review. I absolutely love this midnight blue Julien Macdonald dress and I think Lucy pulls it off really well. The plunging mesh neckline adds a very cheeky element to the dress, yet the understated accessories and hairstyle allows for her to still look classy and sophisticated. I would definitely buy this dress (or something similar at a fraction of the price). As the dress is quite short, the high strappy sandals make it seem longer than it is and it is perfect for a red carpet look.

Zendaya - I am completely obsessed with the elegance of this outfit and I think it looks so beautiful. The classic A-line pencil skirt paired with a white, off the shoulder ruffled crop, looks amazing. Both the skirt and top are from Ashi Studio - who I hadn't heard of before, but I am now completely obsessed with them. You can't see in this picture, but Zendaya has a long fishtail braid and it looked so pretty. The large hooped earnings are not something I would have gone for, but it has actually worked really well and lets be honest - that leg line slit looks incredible.

Maddie Zieglar - I have been watching Dance Moms for years - way before it made it onto the big screens of the UK and it is one of my favourite TV shows ever! I was so happy to see Maddie looking so sweet and charming on the Blue carpet. Her floral Mac Duggal Dress allowed her to look classy and sophisticated, but didn't threaten her tender age of 12. I think the shape of the dress is really flattering as it pulls in ever so slightly at the waist and then out in a skater skirt style. She has paired the dress with hot pink shoes and a pink clutch and they really tie the dress together nicely. 

Sarah Hyland - Again, modern family is one of my favourite TV shows and I watch all 6 seasons on repeat constantly. Guarenteed it will be on my TV at some point during the week! I think Sarah is absolutely stunning and she has a very enviable bod! She went for a lemon cropped Christian Siriano two piece. The lemon colour really compliments her skin tone and the minimalist accessories allows for all attention to be drawn to the outfit. Although very simple, there is a certain attraction to the outfit and she looks very sleek and sophisticated. I love how she has gone for a red lip - although not something I would have thought of, I think it has worked really well in this instance.

Lea Michele - This is definitely the style of outfit that I would normally go for. I love dresses that pull in at the waist and then have a skater skirt style at the bottom, as I feel that is accentuates the female body in all the right places - the classic hourglass! Lea is wearing a beautiful white, blue and red floral Monique Lhuillier two piece. Yes, that is right, although it looks like a dress, it is actually a high-waisted skater skirt and crop top! I love the intricate detail of the flowers and I love the contrast in colour of the pattern. I have massive hair-envy when it comes to Lea Michele as I think it always looks super shiny and healthy and I love the way she has styled it . The signature red shoes make a great pairing!

I hope you liked my little selection of some of my favourite fashion of the 2015 Teen Choice Awards. As you can see, it is a lot more causal than many other award ceremonies and I think that is what makes it so different and special. It seemed like people favoured two piece outfits this year and it has definitely been reciprocated in high street stores as I have seen a lot more two piece ensembles in stock.

NIKE JUVENATE TRAINERS

I had to share one of the most beautiful purchases I (well technically not me) have made this year and it may surprise some of you! I have recently got back into the gym. I used to go all the time when I was at uni, but since graduating, life has kind of got in the way and I lost my mojo with it...so I knew something had to be done!

Now, I absolutely love fashion...I love looking good and I love feeling like I look good too! So what's better than incorporating fashion into fitness, to give that extra boost of motivation to get your butt into gear! I haven't bought new trainers for myself in around 5/6 years, so it was about high time I got some new ones and this time I wanted super cute and colourful trainers that could be worn outside of the gym (my last ones were purely practical).

When I walked past the 'Nike Juvenate Teal Retro' trainers I knew I just had to have them! They were exactly what I was looking for and I instantly fell in love with the teal/mint colour. I felt really naughty, but I asked the shop assistant if they had them in a size 5 and said to myself 'if they have them, then it is meant to be' (pretty silly when I was 99.9% sure they'd have them) and of course they did! Before I knew it, I was at the checkout and my boyf was buying them for me - it all happened very quickly, but boy oh boy am I glad it did! They honestly are the most beautiful trainers I have ever owned.

One thing you should know about me, is that I am all about comfort...if I am not comfortable, then I'm not going to be happy and this rule most definitely applies to my feet! I have to say, these are quite possibly THE comfiest shoes known to man. They have a memory foam feel to them and they are very light and airy - it feels like you aren't wearing any shoes! The stretch like material allows them to slip on so easy that it puts Cinderella to shame! As they are so light, they are great for any kind of exercise - running, walking, jogging and of course weight lifting as well. The flat nature makes them perfect for squats and lunges (no more excuses now) and the stretchy mesh material allows for a perfect fit!

I love to wear them, even when I am just pottering about and running errands, because they look so darn good! The colour of them stands out so nicely that they pair perfectly with some black jeans and a sweater - they definitely tie an outfit together!

I would massively recommend buying the 'Nike Juvenate' trainers (especially in teal) for anyone who is looking to buy or upgrade their current trainers. I can't stress enough how comfortable they are and how perfect they are for exercise. As they look so good, they definitely encourage you to work out! They retail at around £70 - I know that is a little pricey but investing in good quality trainers saves you a lot of pain in the future! 

Now, until you go buy them I shall make you super jealous with some photos...

H&M WISHLIST!!

I recently realized that I hardly EVER do fashion posts, which is silly considering that I absolutely love shopping for clothes! I am building myself up to do an OOTD post, but being a new blogger, I haven’t quite built up the courage to do the ‘quirky, awkward blogger snaps’, but I promise that I will do one soon!

I haven’t had a big shopping haul in ages as I have had bills to pay and other things to buy, so my paycheck has somehow withered itself away without me really noticing and before I know it the month has flown buy and I haven’t purchased anything.  I am a massive shopping addict, so it is really unusual for me not to have done at least a little bit of shopping! I have decided that next month (well the end of this month on payday) I am going to treat myself to some new clothes, so this post is going to be dedicated to my H&M wishlist! I absolutely love H&M, it's one of my favourite high street stores and I always love the clothes they have, which are usually really reasonable and great quality so what is not to love! I always go into H&M on a shopping trip and more often than not, I always end up buying something…I just always find something I love. Anyway, on with the items that I am going to purchase (or want to purchase)

1.  This is the 'Wrap Skirt in Gold Shimmer' and retails at £24.99. I think this skirt is really classy and perfect for summer days in the office. It is casual yet smart and the wrap around feature differentiates it from the classic a-line skirt seen in most office environments. I love that it is smart enough to be in a bold colour like gold as this brightens up my outfit from the usual black and white. I would most likely pair this with a cream blouse and brown dolly shoes, and then a natural/day makeup look.

2. This is the Fine Knit Cardigan in grey and retails at £14.99. A girl can never have enough cover ups, especially a girl who constantly feels the cold and thats me! It really does annoy me when I have a really nice outfit on, but I am absolutely freezing...which is often the case on British summer evenings. I really like the waterfall detail of this cardigan because it makes it more than just a plain grey cardigan and can add something to your outfit when you are having to cover up because of a chill. I would most likely choose to wear this over a skirt or some shorts. 

3. This is the 'Maxi Dress in Lyocell Blend in black' and retails at £49.99. I am utterly and completely obsessed with this dress, I think it is so beautiful and classy and screams me. I do love a good black maxi dress, but this is not at all like any of the others I have. The gold jewelled detailing around the midriff gives the dress that something extra and makes it look super sleek. I would save this dress for a special night out, perhaps for my birthday or on holiday. I would pair it with a pair of black strappy heels and I would most likely do a smokey eye to go with it. 

4. This is the 'Kimono with Beaded Embroidery in black' and retails at £59.99. I have never bought a Kimono before, but I have always wanted one. I just haven't found one that I think is worth me buying. At almost sixty pounds I am not entirely sure I can justify this, but I really do love it! I would most likely wear this during the day with a white tank top and blue denim jeans and then either a pair of converse or dolly shoes. Due to the embroidery on the shoulders I would go for a natural make-up look and my day-to-day jewellery.

5. This is the 'Jersey Playsuit in Powder/Floral' and retails at £12.99. I don't often buy playsuits because I find them an absolute mare to go to the toilet with, but I am so drawn to this one. Its super summery and girly and something I would wear to a BBQ party. I would pair it with some brown goddess sandals and some gold accessories. Definitely can't wait to purchase this.

6. This is the 'Embroidered Playsuit in Powdered white' and retails at £49.99. Woah, two playsuits in one wish list, I am being adventurous! This is again, on the pricier side for H&M, but it just looks so classy that I don't mind occasionally paying that price. I would pair this with some understated jewellery and a pair of black wedges! I think this playsuit would go great with a red lip look!

KENDALL AND KYLIE AT TOPSHOP!!

Happy Weekend everyone, I hope you are all enjoying this lovely weather and are planning to crack out a few BBQ's.

In the words of Carrie Bradshaw "I have been cheating on fashion with furniture" since moving into my new flat. But I came to the decision that it was time to treat myself to one of the things I love the most and thats clothes and the timing couldn't be better as the Kendall and Kylie Jenner collection has just been released at Topshop...so I might have splurged a little!

I absolutely love the line and I think it has managed to portray all the things that are great about Summer in one line. The collection wanted to channel "a simple and vintage inspired way to do LA style" and they have done just that. A couple of the pieces I have purchased include:

This is the 'When In Doubt, Vacation Sweat' by Kendall and Kylie at Topshop and retails at £35.00. I absolutely love this sweater and can tell that I am going to get a lot of use out of it. I like how they have paired it with some denim shorts and I will probably wear it with some light blue denim jeans and a pair of white converse. I am really happy with this purchase as it can be worn throughout milder days in summer and through autmum and winter. 

This is the 'Floral Print Playsuit' by Kendall and Kylie at Topshop and retails at £45.00. I am not much a playsuit person and I think I have only ever owned one in my lifetime but I fell in love with this one when I saw it, I absolutely love the print on it. Its really bold yet understated at the time time. I also love how this can be dressed up with a pair of heals and chunky necklace or played down with a pair of brown goddess sandals. Its really versatile and will be great throughout summer and autumn. 

Finally, this is the 'Layered Maxi Dress' by Kendall and Kylie and Topshop and retails at £50.00. I was really contemplating whether to get this or not. Not because its not totally gorgeous but it did seem a little on the pricey side when I already have a black maxi dress but I did anyway. The way I managed to convince myself was because this maxi dress is a lot smarter than the more casual one I already have. I will wear this one to Summer BBQ's and date nights probably and I will most likely wear it with a pair of sandals and pair it with some gold accessories. Feel totally naughty for buying it but so glad I did. 

As you can tell I really did splurge on myself, but luckily I had some vouchers left over from Christmas so I didn't feel too guilty. The collection itself is on the pricier side but what can you expect from a celebrity line. I am really excited to the get the clothes (I ordered them online) and I know I will most likely wear them to death.

I think most of the collection has sold out on line which shows just how popular it has been but I think it is still available in most flagship stores across the country. I really hope they will be restocking though because there are a couple of other pieces that I wanted to purchase.
